Removing the driver's fender liner doesn't help get access to anything. So open the plastic petcock screw with your fingertips (wedged between the radiator and the vertical radiator support structure) and just let the fluid go everywhere. There's almost no way to get a temporary drain tube attached since the radiator drain terminates INSIDE the front crossmember. Here's my two cents:ġ-The radiator drain on the driver's side is silly. I just changed my antifreeze this weekend. Last: Give me a hint if there something I should add or remove to this first post. Problem still there. Next step: Replacing thermostat and WP and replacing the coolant. I myself ran the car for a year with no problems, then suddenly temperature rised again. To those who wants to read more about other opinions, I suggest the following articles: This seems far fetched to me personally, but not impossible. Someone also mentions that the 1zz and the 2zz waterpump has a different design, and that the 1zz WP may cause cavitation, introducing air in to the system. Serpentine belt slipping on waterpump pulley (seems far fetched unless you hear screaming noises from the belt). Small leaks or cracks in the engine block or cooling system. Now, there might be other problems causing cooling problems. Several people says in their threads that they have had no problems afterwards. Also remember to put the plastic tubes in the fronk UPWARDS as stated in the magazine-article.Īnother recommended tip I've found in a lot of threads, is to do the procedure as stated, then leave the rear of the car jacked up overnight with the reservoir cap removed. Seems that this lastproblem is mostly related to 2zz-swapped cars.Ī popular tip that I've found in a lot of threads here, is to jack up the rear of the car while bleeding/burping. Improper coolant flow may cause overheating, followed by blown headgasket and more.įinally, those who manage to bleed properly and makes their engines happy, suddenly have problems after months of perfect operation. This is a big problem for us Spyder-owners. Suggestion for new care and maintenance-sticky:Īfter searching the forum, I see many people have problems bleeding their coolant properly.
